The building of the new system for the electoral register was a project within the Efficiencies and Change Programme.
The changes mean eligible voters can update their registration details at any time through a more efficient and convenient process.
Even if voters have previously registered online, they will need to submit their information once more so their electoral registration can be linked to their online services account.
Once linked, their details can be viewed and updated at any time.
Efficiencies Programme
The aim of the programme is to deliver real and tangible savings that are visible and measurable to the public.
These are framed by five core pillars: Digital, Contracts, Assets, People, and Services.
In conjunction with these five pillars, work is also underway at Department-level, and through recommendations from the staff suggestions scheme which help to generate more efficient ways of working for members of the public service.
Simplifying Processes
Central teams have been leading efforts to understand and address the specific challenges within each of these pillars, with a commitment to simplifying processes and making better use of available resources.
Governments says it will continue to evolve and adapt over the next five years to meet the needs of the public service and the Isle of Man as a whole.
The tangible ambitions for the programme is to achieve a minimum of £10m in efficiencies and savings by the end of the 2025/26 Financial Year, and achieve a minimum of £50m in efficiencies and savings over the next five years.
