Nestlé has issued a voluntary recall of specific batches of SMA infant formula and follow-on formula in the UK and Ireland due to the potential presence of cereulide.
The company said the recall is a precautionary measure and advised parents and caregivers not to feed the affected products to their babies.
Batch codes can be found on the base of tins or boxes for powdered formulas and on the packaging of ready-to-feed products.
Recall of Formula
Customers who have purchased affected batches can request a full refund by contacting Nestlé via its website or by calling 0800 0 81 81 80.
Those prescribed the recalled products should destroy them and seek advice from a healthcare professional on alternatives.
Nestlé stressed that all other products and unaffected batches remain safe to consume and apologised for any concern caused.
