Directors ‘clearly misled tribunal’

An Employment Tribunal hearing has been adjourned after the respondent company, Caffee Roundhouse Limited, was dissolved during proceedings.

The complaint, filed by Francesco Romagnosi in August 2025, was scheduled for a full hearing on February 4.

However, the Tribunal discovered on February 2 that the company had been voluntarily dissolved on January 26.

Chairperson Mr Peter Taylor stated the directors’ actions “clearly misled the tribunal and the complainant of their true intentions.”

Despite filing submissions as late as January 28, the directors did not inform the tribunal of the winding-up.

Mr Taylor adjourned the case sine die, requiring the complainant to apply for the company’s restoration to the Companies Register before the claim can proceed.
