The Department of Infrastructure is to carry out another consultation on flood defences in Ramsey.
Earlier this week, the Department of Infrastructure withdrew its current planning application for the proposed West Quay, Ramsey Flood Defence and Highway Refurbishment Scheme.
In response to a written question from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, the Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall said the decision followed a review of the “comments and objections” received during the planning process
As a result, he has instructed officials to withdraw the existing application and restart engagement with stakeholders.
The Department will now “consult again with interested parties as soon as possible,” signalling that the scheme will undergo further revision before any new proposal is submitted.
The update means no timeline has yet been set for when a revised Ramsey Quay scheme will come before members for approval.
