The Department of Infrastructure has begun the process of appointing a new operator for the Northern Civic Amenity Site.
The current operating agreement with Ramsey Town Commissioners is due to end on March, 23.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall confirmed the update in a written answer to Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, who had asked what progress had been made in ensuring continuity of the facility.
Mr Crookall said the Department has been in “dialogue with the Northern Local Authorities” and is considering options aimed at delivering “greater operational stability” for the site.
He added that a procurement exercise is now under way to secure a replacement operator.
