Two Manx brothers, Kye and Alan Greenhalgh, have enjoyed a remarkable fortnight of jiu-jitsu success on both the international and national stage.
Competing for Summit Grappling Academy, 16‑year‑old Kye and 13‑year‑old Alan travelled to Stockholm for the prestigious Nordic Open Championship.
Alan claimed gold in the yellow belt division, securing a rapid shoulder‑lock submission in the semi‑final before controlling the final to win on points.
Kye bounced back from a narrow semi‑final loss to take bronze with a strong submission victory in the third‑place match.
Jiu-Jitsu Medals
Alan then continued his winning streak in the UK at the Elite BJJ Junior National Gi and No‑Gi Championships 2026, where he secured double gold.
He won his gi semi‑final by submission before edging a tight final on points, and later added a no‑gi gold with another submission finish.
The results mark a standout period for Alan as he prepares for the upcoming European Championships, strengthening his reputation as one of the island’s most promising young grapplers.
Summit Grappling Academy’s success also reflects the growing strength of Brazilian jiu‑jitsu on the Island, with Manx athletes increasingly competing, and winning, at high‑level events across Europe.
