An administrative error within Treasury has led to incorrect rates demands being issued to around 750 properties in Andreas.
The original demands featured an incorrect amount of 175.4p. Revised demands for 181.7p, along with a covering letter apologising for the mistake, have today been issued to all those affected.
Treasury Minister Chris Thomas said: “I apologise for the administrative error within Treasury affecting Andreas Commissioners rates.
“Thanks go to the Commissioners, Chief Minister Cannan and minister Johnston for bringing this to our attention immediately to enable the error to be corrected straight away.”
Treasury has confirmed the error affects only those who pay rates to Andreas Commissioners and no other local authority on the Island.
