Three Manx TT stars will help launch a new reading initiative at Kewaigue School next week.
Conor Cummins and sidecar duo Ryan and Callum Crowe will visit the Douglas primary on Wednesday (May 6) to kick off a whole school challenge aimed at encouraging pupils to read more with their adults at home.
The project, organised by the School Friends’ Association, will run through to the end of the TT fortnight in June. Pupils who complete the challenge will receive certificates recognising their commitment to reading.
Deputy Headteacher Michelle Mylchreest said the initiative is designed to link reading with positive role models and real‑world inspiration.
She said: “This challenge is about building confidence, encouraging regular reading at home and showing pupils that reading is an important skill for everyone. Having Conor and the Crowe brothers launch it will make the experience truly memorable.”
The school hopes the initiative will give pupils a positive focus as they head towards the TT holidays.
