Local joiner Michael McKenna will compete in next week’s Manx Rally in a self-built Vauxhall Astra 1600, aiming for success in the under 1600cc class.
Running as car 138, McKenna will be co-driven by experienced navigator Phil Sandham, who has competed extensively on Manx roads and achieved strong results in two-wheel-drive categories.
This will be only McKenna’s second appearance at the rally, but he is hoping to make an impact despite strong competition.
Supported by his co-driver, local service crew and family, he will be looking to secure a solid result.
