Entries are now open for the search for the 12th Manx Bard, with poets from across the island invited to put their work forward.
The volunteer‑run competition, sponsored by the Isle of Man Arts Council, aims to celebrate Manx creativity and appoint an ambassador for the island’s poetry and literary heritage.
Both established and emerging poets are encouraged to enter, with judges assessing creativity, performance and each entrant’s vision for the role.
The deadline for entries is Sunday, August 30. Interviews will take place on Saturday, September 12 in Douglas, ahead of the final on Sunday, September 20 at 3pm at St John’s Methodist Hall.
Entry packs and rules are available via Team Bard on Facebook or Instagram, by emailing manxbard@gmail.com, or from Douglas City Library.
