Manx Care says feedback from patients, residents and staff will help shape the next phase of work to restore and develop services at Ramsey Cottage Hospital.
Around 300 people took part in person or online at a meeting last Thursday, raising questions about dental care, dialysis, Martin Ward, ophthalmology, the Minor Injuries Unit and wider access to healthcare in the North.
The meeting, organised by the RDCH Consultative Committee, also provided updates on services already back on site, including the Minor Injuries Unit, X‑ray, DEXA scanning, blood tests, ECGs, outpatient clinics and most dermatology services.
Manx Care said work is progressing to return physiotherapy, ultrasound, inpatient rehabilitation on Martin Ward, renal dialysis and dental services over the coming months, with detailed planning underway and further engagement with affected patients to follow.
Interim CEO Dr Chris Stockport said the turnout showed how important the hospital is to the community, adding that people want “timely updates, transparency and greater certainty” as plans develop.
He said Manx Care remains “fully committed” to RDCH and to restoring services “wherever it is safe, sustainable and clinically appropriate”.
Feedback from the meeting will now be reviewed and used to inform ongoing planning and future service development.
Manx Care and the Department of Health and Social Care will continue to provide updates as decisions are made and milestones reached.
