Photographers are being urged to give it their best shot for inclusion in an exhibition at the Manx Museum next year.
Manx National Heritage is staging the Wild Mann Photography Competition and is encouraging entries from people of all ages and abilities.
The contest is being held to celebrate the return of the acclaimed Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition to the House of Manannan in Peel.
Using the visit of the prestigious exhibition as inspiration for its own Isle of Man contest, Wild Mann aims to encourage photographers to capture the island’s wildlife and beauty,
Photographers from the Isle of Man and beyond are invited to submit their favourite images of flora, fauna, coastlines and landscapes, along with images of wildlife and below the surface of Manx waters.
Natural Wonders
Laura McCoy, MNH’s curator for natural history, said: “Whether you’re capturing a fleeting moment with a puffin, the colours of a woodland fungus, the drama of the island’s coastline or the hidden beauty beneath the waves, Wild Mann is your chance to share the Isle of Man’s natural wonders with everyone.”
Winning and highly commended images will be displayed in a new exhibition at the Manx Museum, Douglas, opening in April 2027. The overall winner will receive £250 vouchers to spend at Morrisons Photos, with entries judged on technical merit, composition, creativity and originality.
Closing Date
Entries close on March 7 next year. They should be submitted as high-quality JPEG images measuring at least 3000 pixels on the longest side or 180 pixels per inch (ppi).
