Noble’s Records More Than 2,000 Inpatient Deaths Over 8 Years

Newly released figures show month‑by‑month inpatient deaths at Noble’s Hospital over the past eight years, alongside total inpatient numbers.

The data released in a Freedom of Information, covers January 2018 to June 2026 and records 2,032 inpatient deaths across the period.

Annual totals show deaths ranging from 213 in 2023 to 308 in 2020, the year that saw the sharpest monthly fluctuations, including a peak of 49 deaths in January 2020.

Inpatient numbers have remained broadly consistent year‑to‑year, typically between 10,000 and 12,500 admissions annually.

The most recent partial year, covering January to June 2026, reports 5,146 inpatients and 138 deaths.

The FOI provides a full monthly breakdown for each year, detailing how inpatient volumes and mortality varied across winter peaks, pandemic‑affected periods, and more recent years.
