A horse with a close link to the Isle of Man has taken the British Eventing Open Championship title with Zara Tindall.
Zara Tindall won the Championship at Hartpury aboard Class Affair, the 17‑year‑old Irish gelding owned by Isle of Man resident Kathryn Revitt, a name already woven into one of the island’s most recognisable racing stories through her connection to the late Trevor Hemmings.
Tindall and Class Affair climbed from 17th after dressage on a score of 32.9 to take the title, producing a superb jumping performance and adding just 0.4 cross‑country time penalties to finish on 33.3.
The result secured not only the championship but also the trophies for Highest Placed British Rider and closest to the optimum time.
Revitt, who now oversees the retirement of Hemmings’ Grand National winners Hedgehunter and Ballabriggs at Ballaseyr Stud in Andreas, has long been a custodian of the horses connected to Hemmings’ extraordinary racing legacy.
