A group of 20 Special Olympics Isle of Man athletes, supported by seven coaches, left Ronaldsway Airport this morning bound for Malmö, Sweden.
The group will compete in Sweden’s Invitational Games from September 2 to 7.
The Isle of Man delegation will take part in athletics, football, ten‑pin bowling and swimming across the six‑day event.
More than 2,000 athletes from 25 European countries are expected to compete, making it one of the largest Special Olympics gatherings in the region this year.
The organisation said it wished all athletes “the very best” as they begin their latest international campaign.
