Issac Closes Season With Ironman Win

Clara Isaac has closed out her triathlon season with a landmark victory at Ironman 70.3 Erkner.

Issac won her age group and clocked a huge personal best of 4hr 29, placing fourth overall among all women.

She spent much of the race trading positions at the front before eventually securing the AG win, later confirmed after a late starter posted a faster bike split.

The Manx woman said she was delighted to have executed her plan, delivering PBs across all three disciplines, a 30:57 swim, 188‑watt bike average, and a 1:29 half marathon, for a seven minute improvement on her previous best.

There was further celebration for the Isaac household as husband Andy Isaac produced a major comeback performance after two difficult seasons, finishing in 4hr 06, placing 4th in AG and 10th overall out of 2,500 men.

The result caps a standout year for Clara, who has now exceeded every target in her five‑year race plan.

Her 2026 season included wins at the IOM May Sprint, Patrick Crookall Middle Distance, IOM Championships, and podiums at St Poelten and the Ironman 70.3 European Championships in Sweden.

She said the most important part of the year was “another great season enjoying a sport we love together”.
