Port Erin Commissioners say infrastructure issues around camper vans and motorhomes need addressing before the village can be fully accessible to visitors.
Under its by-laws, the local authority can introduce measures to deal with abandoned vehicles to protect residents – but these don’t cover motorhomes specifically.
Chair Hannah Mackenzie said there was “no real issue” with motorhomes but the by-laws were there to protect against abandoned vehicles.
The commissioners have also put in place a Vision Port Erin Strategy, which involves looking at legislation including footpaths and open spaces to make the village a better place to live.
Mackenzie said the local authority was “keen to address” the issue of grey and foul waste disposal over the coming years.
