Special Olympics Isle of Man athletes took part in a 12-hour sports marathon to help raise funds for the team’s participation in the 2027 Special Olympics World Games in Chile.
The event on Saturday (October 10) featured a packed programme of activities including bocce, golf, cycling, badminton, football, athletics, yoga and a disco finale, with athletes, volunteers, coaches and families taking part throughout the day.
Following the fundraiser, the charity thanked everyone involved, describing the event as a celebration of friendship, inclusion and teamwork.
Fundraising totals are still being counted, with donations going towards travel, accommodation and kit costs for the Isle of Man delegation.
The Manx charity provides sporting opportunities for people with learning disabilities and has competed as an independent nation under its own flag since 1995.
A squad of 14 to 16 athletes is expected to represent the island in six sports at the 2027 World Games in Santiago, Chile, alongside coaches and support staff.
