Students at UCM are set to benefit from enhanced pastoral support following the appointment of Sarah Strickett as a new Progress Tutor.
The role will see Sarah deliver tutorials across the college, provide personalised support to students and carry out learner progress reviews.
UCM says the position is designed to help students succeed in their studies while also developing the confidence, skills and resilience needed for future education and employment.
Sarah brings extensive experience working with young people aged 16 to 19, including those with additional learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Her previous roles have included Senior Education Support Officer posts at St Ninian’s High School and Henry Bloom Noble Primary School, alongside youth work and outreach positions supporting young people with disabilities and additional needs.
The college says the appointment forms part of its wider commitment to student wellbeing and development.
UCM is also recruiting for a second Progress Tutor, with details available through the Isle of Man Government’s JobTrain service.
