Ramsey Town Commissioners have confirmed that the town’s annual fireworks display will be held in November, after organisers made the decision to move the event from its traditional date of October 31.

The change to on Saturday, November 21, follows concerns raised by the event contractor over potential issues transporting fireworks to the Isle of Man.

Commissioners said an early decision was taken to avoid uncertainty and allow plans to proceed.

The display will take place in Mooragh Park from 7.30pm, with this year’s musical theme celebrating Take That. Entertainment will begin earlier in the evening at the Lakeside Centre from 6pm.

The town’s annual Christmas Light Switch On has also been confirmed for Friday, November 20, creating a festive weekend of events in Ramsey.

Lead Member for Parks and Leisure, Margaret Webb, said the display remains one of the town’s most popular events and that organisers look forward to welcoming visitors to both celebrations.

She added that the two events provide an opportunity to visit Ramsey’s independent retailers and hospitality venues, with free parking and public transport options available for attendees.
