The A3 Ramsey to Castletown Road will close today just north of the junction with the Silverdale Road, Malew.
The closure will be from 9.30am until 4pm, November 5.
It is to allow the felling of roadside trees that were made unstable in the recent storms. The work is being undertaken by a contractor for a private landowner.
A spokesperson for the Department of Infrastructure said: “It is anticipated that work to clear the downed trees from the carriageway will extend into the following day.
“This clearance work will be completed under temporary traffic lights.”
Use of traffic lights has been authorised up until 4pm on November 6.
