Former Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper is bidding to make a swift return to politics by standing in the Ramsey Commissioners by-election.
A contested election will take place for candidates to join Ramsey Commissioners’ North and South Wards.
In the North Ward, two people have stepped forward for one seat: Nikola Brindley and Lawrie Hooper.
Whilst in the South Ward, Gillian Corlett, Victoria Dunne, Stella Moss and Louise Whitelegg are vying for the two available seats.
The seats have been left vacant due to Juan McGuinness’ election to the House of Keys in September, as well as a series of resignations earlier this year. Hooper lost his seat in the House of Keys at General Election.
Residents will be able to vote in their respective by-elections on December 3 from 8am until 8pm at the town.
