Ann Corlett has replaced Daphne Caine as Deputy Speaker of the House of Keys.
The Douglas Central MHK was nominated by David Ashford.
The role became vacant after Daphne Caine replaced Julie Edge as Education Minister last week.
Mrs Corlett’s first sitting as deputy speaker will be in a fortnight.
