Manx Utilities’ plans to build a sewage treatment works in Peel have hit a snag.
An appeal has been launched against the approval given to the plans by the planning committee in July.
The owners of an adjacent field, who have designs to build homes on the site, have launched the appeal with the government.
They claim there was “incorrect planning procedure and information supplied to Planning Committee”.
Their appeal said: “We submitted multiple written representations but it appears none of those representations have been taken into account by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA).”
They also claim there are other sites that would be better than the one chosen just off Glenfaba Road.
Manx Utilities said it is “disappointed” by the appeal and said it is “undeterred and remains committed to deliver this critical national infrastructure”.
