Manx Telecom has launched an initiative to assist customers relying on copper-based services as it prepares for the copper network switch-off.
The company is calling on individuals and businesses using lift emergency lines, personal alarms, care devices, and other copper-dependent systems to register their needs via its Future Ready Team.
Josh Radcliffe, future ready community partner at MT, said: “We understand that our network modernisation affects more than just internet and phone services.
“Lift emergency lines, personal alarms, and care monitoring systems are vital lifelines for many island residents. That’s why we’re reaching out now to identify these services and work with customers to find the right solutions.”
The company confirmed that alternative solutions are in development, potentially avoiding costly full system replacements. A dedicated team is assessing individual cases to minimise disruption.
Affected services include lift communications, personal alarms, security systems, and payment terminals. Customers are urged to complete a form at manxtelecom.com/copper-dependent-servicesfor direct support.
