A glut of medals were won by athletes from the Isle of Man at the two-day Lancashire Track & Field Championships held at Stanley Park in Blackpool.
A total of 34 medals were won by athletes representing Manx Harriers, Northern AC and Western AC – 16 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze.
In addition, there were many outstanding performances from athletes who finished outside the medal positions, and countless personal bests were set across a range of disciplines.
Lancashire Championships
Pride of place must go to Eve Martin (MH) who achieved a remarkable tally of five gold medals and one silver over the weekend in the U13 Girls age group.
Leighton Curphey (MH) won four medals, two of them gold, in the U13 Boys events, while Aimee Christian (MH) won two golds in the senior women’s events, as did Lucy Ormsby (NAC) in the U20 women’s category.
Other gold medallists were Elizabeth Clennell (MH), Ffinlo Thomas (MH), Corrin Leeming (WAC), Sirona Thompson (MH) and Zac Woodward (NAC).
