Garff residents who normally would have their bins collected on Friday will have to wait until Saturday.
The local authority has said it has postponed collections after talks with its contractor.
With an amber weather warning in place, much of the island is expected to affected by ice overnight and into the morning, the authority said it had carried out a risk assessment before making the decision.
Garff Commissioners said: “The temperatures predicted for Saturday are higher than tomorrow morning.
“If your wheelie bin is normally emptied on a Friday morning it will now be emptied on Saturday morning, so please leave it in place on Friday night ready for the Saturday collection.”
The Friday refuse collection round includes the following general areas:
Main Road(A2) From junction with Church Road to junction with Barroose Road
Baldrine
Ballacannel, All Saints Park, Church Close
Croit-e-Quill Road, Moaney Quill
Ballacallister Heights, Road & Lane
