A planning application has been submitted to convert part of the former Boathouse restaurant on Queens Road, Port St Mary, for salt production and retail use.
The proposal, lodged by Helen Crosbie of the Isle of Man Salt Co., seeks permission to introduce light‑industrial activity alongside shop space within the existing building.
It also includes plans for roof‑mounted extraction equipment and solar panels on the flat roof.
If approved, the site would operate as a mixed‑use premises combining small‑scale production, retail and the existing restaurant building.
