Sammy Bowden and Tristan Shields crossed the finish line together in joint second place at the 2025 Parish Walk, clocking a time of 16 hours, 35 minutes, and 35 seconds.
Bowden also secured the Veteran Ladies title for the third time, adding to her previous victories in 2021 and 2022.
Reflecting on the achievement, Shields said, “I was not expecting second place at all. Under 17 hours was the target, and when me and Sammy team up together, good things happen.
“It happened in ’22—we finished together. I got a PB with her, and this time around, she’s pulled me around. So yeah, thanks, Sam.”
Bowden echoed the sentiment, stating, “We’ve pulled each other through. He’s got a PB, I’ve got a PB, a joint second. I can’t ask for much more.”
She acknowledged the challenging conditions, adding, “It was quite hot round JB, felt a bit sick towards the end, but it made it easier having company.”
Shields also praised the event’s community spirit, saying, “In my opinion, it’s the best community event on the Isle of Man. The support is massive.”
