Manx Radio recorded a loss of £20,392 for the financial year ending March 31 2025, its latest annual report shows.
The state owned broadcaster’s turnover from continuing operations fell by 7% to £1,181,182, down £86,255 from the previous year.
Operating expenses remained almost static at just over £2.42 million, with its financial results offset by a government subvention of £1,184,024, which financed half of the station’s income.
Managing director Chris Sully described the outcome as a “creditable achievement given the continued market uncertainty, which is evident in almost all sectors that we engage with for our commercial advertising revenues”.
The report highlights significant changes in listening habits.
The station said that while FM “remains at the heart of our broadcast strategy,” a DAB trial in the Douglas and Onchan area “continues to attract a growing audience, particularly among in-car listeners”.
