An unannounced inspection has found a care home in the south of the island to not always be safe, effective and well led.
Bradda View Care Home in Port Erin, which was opened in Autumn of last year, was subject to an unannounced inspection visit on July 21, 2025.
Targeted inspections have a narrower focus than focused inspections and are intended to assess whether an Improvement Notice has been met or inspect tangible concerns about specific risks to people’s safety.
For this inspection the Department of Health and Social Care looked at the safe, effective and well-led questions.
Not Always Safe, Effective & Well Led
For safe, DHSC looked for evidence that people were protected from abuse and avoidable harm.
It found that the service at Bradda View was not always safe.
At the last inspection there were requirements made in respect of staffing and health and safety.
It found the service was not always effective.
At the last inspection there were requirements made in respect of service recipients plans and the conduct of the care service.
The inspection also found that the service was not always well-led.
At the last inspection there were requirements made in respect of complaints and review of the quality of care.
