Castletown Rifle Club pairing Richard Arthur and Robin McFee have claimed Division 2 honours in the Cambridgeshire Target Shooting Association’s Summer Pairs Postal Competition.
Shot over ten rounds during the summer months at their home range, the duo topped the scoring in four rounds, securing 43 points in total and finishing with a combined average of 95.2.
Their nearest challengers, from Bury Rifle Club, were three points adrift on 40.
Absolutely Fantastic!
McFee described the victory as “absolutely fantastic”.
There was further success for Castletown, with Richard Arthur also claiming the Division 7 individual title, finishing two points clear of his nearest rival.
Arthur produced the division’s only maximum score of 100 during round nine, an impressive achievement for a shooter who has remained faithful to the same rifle set-up for over 19 years.
“I’m pleased to win the pairs competition and, even more so, the individual,” Arthur said.
