Manx National Heritage has partnered with Bus Vannin to put on a free exhibition exploring bus travel in the Isle of Man over the last half century.
Newly opened at the House of Manannan in Peel, A Bus Service transports visitors through the history and nostalgia of the island’s publicly owned bus network.
Curated to mark 50 years since the island’s bus services came under public ownership, the exhibition is celebrating the people, vehicles and stories that have kept communities connected for generations.
Nicola Tooms, Assistant Curator with Manx National Heritage, said: “Almost everyone on the Isle of Man has a memory connected to the bus service, whether it’s travelling to school, heading into town or visiting family and friends.
“This exhibition looks back at how the Island’s buses have evolved over the past 50 years and celebrates the vital role they continue to play in keeping communities connected.”
