Applications for Child Benefit can now be made online, as part of the latest phase in a project aimed at modernising the delivery of Social Security Services.
Once registered with Isle of Man Government Online Services, claimants can set up a Social Security account. Those who are not yet registered can do so here.
Customers will then be able to apply for Child Benefit online, and upload supporting documentation.
Treasury Minister Chris Thomas MHK said: “By enabling customers to apply online, upload documents securely and manage their claim digitally, we are providing a convenient and efficient service that better meets the expectations of today’s users.
“This latest development demonstrates Treasury’s commitment to improving accessibility, reducing paperwork and delivering public services in a way that is both secure and customer-focused.”
This development is the latest in a series of reforms over recent years, which have seen Income Support, Incapacity Benefit and Employed Person’s Allowance services all move online.
Jobseekers’ Allowance is the next application due for development, with that process set to take place over the course of the next four to six months.
While Online Services provide an additional option for claimants, anyone wishing to contact the Social Security team directly can continue to call 685656 or email socialsecurity@gov.im.
Staff are also available at Markwell House in Douglas, Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm, and Ramsey Town Hall each Tuesday, 10am-1pm and 1.45pm-4pm.
