Manx carriage driver Lynda Christian ended the season in remarkable fashion after claiming a National Championship title at Ashfields Carriage and Polo Club.
To make it even more special, the event marked a farewell outing for her veteran horse JC, retiring at 22.
Christian said the weekend “went better than planned” after JC delivered one final standout performance.
The win came as a surprise, with the pair travelling to the championships simply to say goodbye to fellow competitors.
She thanked long‑time supporters Fred and Beryl Pendlebury, backstepper Helen Squires, and Sam for her behind‑the‑scenes work, along with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company for its continued backing.
Christian added that having George Bowman Snr present made the moment even more special, saying she would never have had JC without his influence.
