Plans have been submitted to replace eight small rotten or missing wooden framed recessed windows in the church tower at Kirk Michael.
The proposal aims to address concerns about moisture and dust affecting the Victorian clock mechanism located nearby.
The proposed works include replacing the windows with red pine softwood frames, treated with preservative and stained in a “light oak” colour.
A report from clock makers highlighted the issue recommends “as a temporary measure until planning permission is granted, that the opening is boarded up as soon as possible to prevent moisture and dust blowing in, and strong winds that could affect the performance of the clock”.
Photographs show one window missing and others in poor condition, with some previously covered by plastic sheets to reduce water ingress.
