Classic Manx Day Tours Make a Comeback

Full‑day sightseeing tours for travellers will return to the Isle of Man this summer, as VisitIOM and Opul Coaches launch two fully escorted day trips from May.

The initiative, announced by Mann Link Travel, marks the revival of “old fashioned tourism”, the traditional grand‑tour style excursions that have largely been limited to cruise passengers in recent years.

Both residents and visitors will be able to book the tours online, with each trip led by Isle of Man Blue Badge Guides.

Day Tours

Two itineraries will be offered:

Southern Splendour includes a steam railway journey to Castletown, guided visits to the Old House of Keys and Castle Rushen, and stops at Cregneash, The Sound and Port Erin.

Northern & Western Wonders features the Laxey Wheel, a Manx Electric Railway trip to Ramsey, Peel’s House of Manannan and Tynwald Hill.

Tours will run throughout summer 2026, with prices starting at £79.50 per person and discounted rates for under 16s.

Mann Link Travel is encouraging local travel and hospitality businesses to share booking links to help revitalise the island’s excursion market.
