Look, I don’t know about you, but I for one am OVERJOYED to see a cold weather front coming in for the weekend.
Spring is just around the corner, but for a country bumpkin who spends most her time knee deep in mud, a cold spell to dry that ground out is quite frankly *insert word of choice, but recall my alliteration* fantastic!
Today (February 24) is going to be often dry, sunny intervals but also the risk of isolated showers (hopefully bugger all).
Wind will be W or SW 10-15, decreasing 10-15 in the evening, backing S or SE 10-15 overnight. Increasing SE 15-20 later.
There will be a risk of ground frost as we have lows of 1°C and highs of a lovely 8°C.
Cold Sunday
Wrap up warm tomorrow (February 25), it is going to feel a wee bit nippy with highs of 7°C, but lows of 2°C.
The Met man says it will be dry but often cloudy, feeling cold.
An easterly wind will be adding to that cool feeling in the air with a E or SE 15-20, increasing NE 20-25 in the afternoon, occasionally 30 later, backing N overnight.
Again, there is a risk of ground frost.
Outlook
Monday (February 26), it looks like the dry spell is here to stay! As is the cold.
Highs of 8°C and lows of 2°C, with a N 20-25 wind soon veering NE, decreasing 10-15 later, backing W or SW overnight.
Met Office comments are strong winds until later. Ground frost, especially later.
Tuesday… it was all going too well. Welcome the rain again; when will it just piss off (sorry if that wording offended you, but it’s how I feel).
Its going to warm up, slightly, to 10°C and lows of 3°C.
The current forecast suggests it will be cloudy with a spell of rain arriving in the afternoon.
Wind will be a W or SW 10-15 gradually increasing 20-25 for the afternoon, decreasing 15-20 in the evening, then veering E or SE 10 overnight.
The amount of rain actually made me a gag a bit, like I know it’s not loads, but it’s enough to make my ground resemble the somme; Met Office reckons 2-6mm.
Although its comments are “strong winds for a time. Risk of a ground frost”.
Let’s hope a different weather pattern has appeared by then and Tuesday actually turns out to be a beaut!
