Jurby Parish Commissioners has said that no-one told the board about any potential changes to Jurby Airfield.
A public meeting is due to be held on Monday with the authority, MHKs and airport director Gary Cobb.
The meeting was called after the inclusion in the proposed North-West Area Plan of provision for a significant extension to the airfield, with concerns that it would bulldoze houses and destroy wildlife.
In a statement, the local authority said: “For the past 4 years JPC have engaged in deep discussions with the DOl regarding development in Jurby, and at no point have they; any cabinet office members; or other government department had a prior discussion with us as the local authority to highlight these plans.
“Every elected member of the JPC board is a resident rate payer of the Parish and affected by this. We are extremely disappointed with how this whole topic has been handled and want answers as much as everyone else does.”
