Manx rider Jamie Cringle has been transferred to Aintree Hospital after suffering multiple serious injuries in Friday’s Supersport race.
His brother Ryan shared an update explaining that Jamie has suffered compound fractures of the tibia and fibula, a partial rupture of a lower‑leg artery causing major blood loss, a fractured sternum, a haematoma on his adrenal gland, elevated cardiac enzymes from bruising around the heart, lung bruising and lacerations making breathing difficult, and a burst fracture of his L3 vertebra, which has left him currently bed‑bound.
Jamie has now gone into surgery and is expected to require multiple operations on his leg. While surgeons work on the most urgent injuries, further scans are being carried out on areas that could not be assessed earlier.
Alongside the physical toll, Jamie faces the added pressure of keeping his newly launched plumbing business afloat while he recovers. Friends say he would “never ask for help”, which is why a fundraising effort has been set up on his behalf.
Messages of support have poured in from across the paddock and wider racing community. Ryan, Jamie’s friend Jake and the team say the kindness shown “means a lot to Jamie and everyone around him”.
