Crown Dependencies Networking Strengthens Joint Working

A delegation of Tynwald Members has returned from Jersey after attending a two-day Crown Dependencies network event.

The networking event brought together parliamentarians from the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.

The Tynwald delegation comprised Dawn Kinnish MLC and Paul Craine MLC.

Due to travel disruptions other members of the delegation were unable to attend the network.

Networking Event

The event included plenary sessions on ‘Constituency Support’ and ‘Public Engagement’.

A question-and-answer session was also held relating to shared experiences between the islands, including Assisted Dying legislation and housing.

Mrs Kinnish MLC, said: “The value of networking with other Crown Dependencies, examining and comparing financial and social policy issues through the lens of Island life, as well as the different parliamentary systems, cannot be understated.

“Sharing knowledge and process with other political members brings innovation and diversity of thought as well as developing unity from our constitutional relationship with the UK.”
