Customers of Manx Utilities are to be offered a chance to help shape the future of the electricity pricing strategy.
MUA has partnered with consultants, davies & mckerr who will lead a series of customer focus groups designed to gather feedback and insights for the pricing strategy.
Over the course of the next two weeks, around 1,000 MUA customers will be contacted directly by the consultants and invited to join focus groups.
Electricity Pricing
Those participating in these focus groups, will have the opportunity to consider the principles of future tariffs and how they are designed.
MUA says that insights will help support a strategy that not only reflects the realities of today’s electricity tariffs but also considers what matters most to customers.
Chair of MUA John Wannenburgh MHK said: “It is important we listen to our customers, particularly as the electricity industry transitions to green energy. Our tariffs should reflect our customers’ diverse needs, support sustainability goals and where possible, provide customer choice.
“I am wholly supportive of this new initiative and hope it will provide a positive addition to our next 5-year Pricing Strategy.”
Focus Groups
The focus groups topic will include:
- Understanding customer energy usage patterns;
- Preferences on tariff structures (e.g., time-of-use, etc.);
- Perceptions of value for money and service quality;
- The potential impact of evolving energy markets and new technology integration.
Manx Utilities’ 5-year Pricing Strategy is scheduled to be placed before Tynwald for consideration and approval in November 2024.
