Dalby Road shut due to poor driving conditions

The Dalby Road, Patrick from Dalby Village, south to the Roundtable is also closed due to poor driving conditions.

Ploughing and salting is being done on this road, together with the Sloc and Shoulder Road.

Department of Infrastructure will give an update in due course.

Road closures

The A18 Mountain Road is currently closed from Barrule Park, Ramsey to Creg Ny Baa, Onchan.

Creg Ny Baa is fully accessible from Douglas and the Creg Ny Baa Back Road.

There is no access to the Bungalow/Victory Café.

Tholt-Y-Will and Beinn-Y-Phott are also closed.

A36 Sloc & Shoulder roads are closed from the junction with the A7 at Ballakillowey roundabout to the junction A3 Foxdale Road (South Barrule Plantation. Access for residents within the closure is available from Ballakillowey (only).

The closures are due to hazardous snow conditions.

There are a number of abandoned vehicles on the Sloc and Shoulder Rd.

We have teams currently snow ploughing on the A36 in an effort to get that route open.

Conditions on the Mountain are considerably worse, with more snow predicted.

Weather

Outbreaks of rain or sleet quickly arriving and falling as snow over the hills.

This precipitation turning persistent for much of the day as the easterly winds increase strong to gale force.

Significant snow accumulation expected for the hills. Maximum temperature 4°C but with significant wind chill.

Further outbreaks of rain tomorrow this falling as sleet over higher ground. Fresh to strong east or northeast wind and a top temperature of 7°C.
