Digital Red Flag Test Tomorrow

The organisers of the TT will conduct a test of the electronic flag system around the Mountain Course on Friday morning.

It will be tested between 06:30am and 07:30am.

The digital flags are a key part of the TT’s safety management system, providing an additional layer to the traditional marshal-operated red flags.

It allows the Clerk of the Course to instantly signal a race stoppage, improving visibility for riders, marshals, and officials.

During the test, the displays at flag points around the course will illuminate simultaneously.

Public road access will not be affected, and no action is required from road users.

Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson said: “While the large square displays are clearly not traffic signals, we want to ensure the public is aware that this test is taking place and that no action is needed during the display.

“We’ve selected an early morning window to minimise any disruption, and as always, we appreciate the patience and understanding of residents and road users as we make our final safety preparations for this year’s TT.”
