Disruptions During MRI Replacement

There will be a number of disruptions at Noble’s Hospital whilst the MRI scanner is being replaced.

On the evening of Tuesday, September 23, the parking and drop-off area outside the Greeba entrance to Noble’s will be barriered off, in preparation for the delivery of a mobile MRI scanner.

This temporary scanner is being installed to ensure continuity of MRI services during the replacement of the existing unit, with minimal disruption to operational needs.

Safety Reasons

For safety reasons, the area surrounding the mobile unit – including the current motorcycle parking area – will remain restricted.

This is to facilitate safe patient transfers to and from the unit, and to ensure clear access to the fire escapefrom Ward 1.

The mobile scanner will remain in use for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Disruptions

As part of this upcoming project within Radiology, a section of the staff parking area adjacent to the Diabetic Centre and Oak House will be temporarily repurposed to support project logistics.

On September 27, barriers will be placed across the section of road to restrict parking in the designated area.

On September 29,, the area will be fully blocked off, and will be in use for the duration of the project (until December 31).

Radiology

From September 25 to December 31, there may be minor disruptions in and around the Radiology area, as Manx Care undertake this upgrade project to replace the existing MRI scanner.

However, it does anticipate minimal impact on operational services, and says it will every effort will be made to maintain continuity of care.
