The DoI is exploring making buses more accessible for older residents in Onchan.
The announcement came following a question from MHK Julie Edge which focused on bus connectivity for elderly people’s complexes.
Minister Dr Michelle Haywood said her department is examining the possibility of a new bus stop on Bemahague Road to serve Heywood Court.
This would offer level access for residents, replacing the current 200-metre walk up a steep incline to the nearest stop.
Dr Haywood cautioned the work for the new Hayward Court stop is at a “very preliminary stage” and currently has “no allocated funding.”
She also ruled out a stop directly outside the complex as it is on an “unadopted road.”
