Don’t Forget The Road Closure

Essential refurbishment work at the White Hoe Wastewater Pumping Station will see a section of Old Castletown Road closed for more than two weeks this month.

Manx Utilities says the upgrade is needed to replace ageing equipment and improve the long‑term reliability of the site.

As part of the project, Old Castletown Road will be shut from March 9 to 25 to allow for manhole cover replacement and resurfacing.

During the closure:

  • Access to White Hoe Industrial Estate will be via Kewaigue Hill Road
  • Access to Douglas will be via the Quarterbridge roundabouts
  • Drivers are asked to follow signed diversion routes

MUA say it will work as efficiently as possible while ensuring the scheme is delivered safely and with minimal disruption.
