Douglas will host its annual Civic Sunday commemoration this weekend, with events taking place on tomorrow led by the Mayor, Councillor Steven Crellin JP.
Representatives from local authorities, government departments, ex‑service groups, charities and members of the public will join the occasion.
A parade, led by Douglas Town Band, will form outside City Hall on Ridgeway Street and depart at 10am, travelling via Victoria Street, Duke Street and Market Hill.
The Civic Service at St Matthew’s Church will begin at 10.30am, preceded by a Blessing of the Sea. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive by 10.15am.
The Mayor has selected three local causes for his 2026–27 charity appeal: Great North Air Ambulance Service, Forget Me Not IoM and A Little Piece of Hope.
