Manx Care has hit out at idiotic drivers following ambulances on blue lights, seemingly to gain a traffic advantage.
The health service warned that such actions increase risks during emergency responses.
It said: “This adds extra risk to the already significant risk of emergency driving.”
Manx Care added: “If the crew feels it is unsafe, they may be forced to abandon their emergency response to reduce that risk – this will of course delay the response to the patient, which is absolutely not what our colleagues want to do.
“Please consider the consequences of actions you take whilst driving in the vicinity of emergency response vehicles. By attempting to gain an advantage, you may be inadvertently putting patients, crews and yourself at risk.”
Manx Care added that instances of antisocial driving causing concerns or affecting emergency response will be passed to the Police.
