A new £2 coin is due to be minted featuring TT legend Joey Dunlop.
The 26-time winner, regarded as one of the greatest racers to ever grace the island, died in July 2000.
Submitted to Tynwald by Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson, the coin will carry the effigy of Lord of Mann King Charles III with Dunlop on the reserve.
The image chosen shows him “riding a motorbike passing through the mountain section of the TT course” surrounded by a laurel wreath.
Even 25 years since his death in a race in Estonia, Dunlop remains a legendary figure on the island and in the wider world of motor racing with only his nephew Michael achieving more wins at the TT with 29.
